An Open Letter To The ICC

Dear Sir,
The recent test matches between India and Sri Lanka and also west Indies and Australia have seen poor crowds...I am , as a longtime fan of cricket , deeply concerned...so these are some of the measures i suggest to you to make the sport much more interesting...

Cheerleaders in Test matches
Sometimes test matches tend to be boring...crowd will be disappointed if no good entertainment is available..as we have seen in the IPL cheerleaders tend to raise the enthusiasm of the crowd..
these cheerleaders are some of the best..try them out...

The K-Sutra
You can always use the advice given by Indian team coach Gary Kirsten...that's why India are the no.1 team in tests right now...if u don't the players will be restless during the match and you will have to see the following scenes...


Be careful where you hit the balls!! This is one image you don't want the kids to see..

Make Tiger Woods the brand ambassador for the game
Its true that Tiger doesn't know much about cricket but he can be a good role model for all the young players...he has truly shown how to mix business with pleasure..present cricketers can also learn from him how they can enjoy all they want and still be respected..

i m sure tiger would teach them to be more well behaved...

Emphasis on Women's cricket
All other successful sports have a good audience for the female version of the game except cricket..women's tennis with its Sharapova's, Serena's has turned out to be a popular and a glamorous game ...there is no reason why this shouldn't be replicated in cricket too...
some changes in the attire would help very much...

this is the first time i am writing about golf..this story involves a whole new different kind of holes...Tiger Woods the ideal role model is now involved in a scandal...the world no 1 crashed his car near his house but this is not the news...

Thierry Henry denied the Irish their rightful place at the world cup through his now infamous "hand of god "controversy or rather the "the hand of frog"...

Henry for his part has admitted that it was an intentional handball..he has also asked Fifa to replay the match..
strangely this appeal came after Fifa said that it won't allow a rematch at any cost..henry has admitted that he thought about retiring after the controversy...


well well look who's showing his true colours...
this is a more appropriate game for henry...
he also got an award for his outstanding skills in the field...

chelsea's injury list seems to be growing by the day..first bosingwa then ashley cole..now it seems that Drogba and Lampard are also on the injury list..
Drogba was declared fit by the chelsea team medic's but his national team Ivory coast medics found out that all was not well with the star striker..so now it's official Ivory Coast has better health care facilities than England...
Lampard too is injured allegedly after travelling in a substandard plane from england to Doha...
he maybe out for 4 weeks or more..

current Spur's and ex-chelsea goalkeeper carlo Cudicini has managed to finally end his career.. well almost..the italian who was suffering from a back injury decided that zooming at Mach speeds in his BMW superbike wouldn't be a problem..well unfortunately he crashed and was fighting for his life..thankfully he has recovered and will play soon..but his heroics has been deemed as a breach of contract by his team management and his career remains uncertain..

Germany's goalkeeper Robert Enke died a tragic death..apparently he commited suicide by throwing himself in front of a train..the german international who has 8 caps was assured of being 1st choice goalkeeper in next year's world cup..he was recovering from injury and hence not playing in the friendlies this week..

Cricket
India lost the 7 match series 4-2 to australia with the last odi being rained off..Australia had a lot of injury problems with 6 of their regulars and some of the replacements flying back home..but the world champions displayed good cricket and the required determination against an overrated and under performing indian team..
indian team coach Kirsten reportedly advised his players to again indulge in k-sutra to fight off the disappointment..the players did take the advise with the captain leading the way..
shane watson was the man of the series for his all round show..maybe someone needs to keep their eyes on appropriate balls!!..

Belgian tennis stars Yanina Wickmayer ,the us open semifinalist, and Xavier Malisse were banned from all tennis tournaments for 1 year by the Flemish Doping Tribunal (VDT)..this is because they failed to give their whereabouts when asked by the anti doping agency..they did not fail the test they just didn't tell the authorities where they were ...this will have a serious impact on the career of the 2 'supposed' cheaters..
Well some players even after failing the tests are let off because they kissed the wrong girl(richard gasquet) or by lying to the federation(andre agassi)...but the 2 banned players didn't have any silly reasons to say like my dog ate my homework..when will they learn?lying always pays!!!

Jenson Button managed to come 5th n win the driver's championship for the first time..his team debutants Brawn gp won the constructor's championship...but in the start of the race nobody expected this result..button was in the 14th spot while his rival Barrichello was in pole position for his home race..but some real action in the 1st lapenabled button to move up the grid..there was lot of cars going out of track,cars on fire in the pit lane n some heated exchanges between the drivers who went out of the race

Man utd went to the top of the table with a 2-1 victory over Bolton..knight scored an own goal to put man utd ahead in the 5th min and Valencia's first epl goal for his side gave 2-0 advantage..taylor scored a a consolation goal for bolton ...van der sar made a superb save in the dying minutes to deny a pt to bolton...it's strange though how many own goals are scored in man u's favour...
Arsenal had a comfortable 3-1 victory over Birmingham city with Van persie,diaby n arshavin scoring for the gunners..chelsea had a shock defeat 2-1 at villa due to the set play errors...drogba put the blues in the lead after 15 min..but aston villa equalised within half time Dunne and took the lead in 52nd minute with yet another header this time by defender Collins..
in other matches wigan played out a 1-1 draw at home vs 10-man man city ,tottenham won awy at portsmouth 2-1..blackburn bt burnley 3-2 n everton were held to a 1-1 draw against the wolves..
But the match of the weekend was undoubtedly Liverpool vs Sunderland..this is what happened...

world cup qualifiers 2010 -results

Well the Argentinian's finally managed to qualify for the world cup..but it was not an easy road especially after Maradona took over as manager..substitute Mario Bolatti scored in the 84th minute vs Uruguay to give them a place in south Africa..in other qualifiers Switzerland managed to hold Israel and book a spot to the world cup as also did Slovakia after beating Poland 1-0..Greece bt Luxembourg to get a playoff spot as did Ukraine with a huge 6-0 victory against Andorra..Portugal which had a horrible start also got a playoff spot and were joined by Slovenia...
Beckham  was declared the man of the match in the game against Belarus which England won 3-0..he did look wierd in a beard though..

but the most exciting match was US vs Costa Rica...an emotional team after  striker Charlie Davies  was seriously injured in an accident US held Costa Rica 2-2 by scoring in the last 20 seconds thus screwing Costa Rica and enabling Honduras a spot in the world cup..Costa Rica will now play Uruguay in the play offs...

world cup qualifiers 2010

hi to everyone..today its an important match for Maradona's Argentina as they face a crucial match away vs Uruguay..a draw will be enough for the Argentinian's for a place in the world cup while Uruguay have to win the match for an automatic qualifying berth..Ecuador is another team in contention for the last automatic qualifying berth..they have to beat Chile away by a margin of atleast 5 goals n hope that Argentina n  Uruguay play out a draw..if they win they may have a chance of getting into the playoff's..Argentina look the best of the three but Maradona's stupid tactics may cost them dearly like when he benched star striker Tevez n brought in a guy who hadn't played internationals for 10 years vs Peru..it didn't cost them against Peru but Uruguay are a lot better team than Peru..so he better be careful..
In other important fixtures the Portuguese without Ronaldo will play against minnows Malta   for a place in the playoffs..Greece too hopes to enter playoffs with a win over Luxembourg although they can secure automatic spot if table toppers lose to minnows Israel..Costa Rica take on Us and their nearest rivals for the automatic spot Honduras take on El Salvador in the last match of the qualifiers..
